Review: Sanctuary (Beards and Bondage #2) by Rebekah Weatherspoon

I’m going to open my first official review on this by telling you I love Rebekah Weatherspoon’s writing ahead of time. I first discovered her through the fit trilogy (which I need to finish what is wrong with me). I’ve been a fan of her writing since then especially since she writes such different stories from what you may expect in a ‘traditional’ contemporary romance.

Blurb from the author:

When she needs a sanctuary…

Targeted by a sadistic former client, attorney Liz Lewis needs a place to lay low. When a friend offers her his family farm as a safe house, she eagerly accepts, unaware that she’ll have to share the farm with her friend’s brawny, beautiful brother, Silas McInroy.

…she invades his…

Weary of a world that doesn’t understand him, Silas just wants to be left alone to grow the best produce upstate New York has to offer. Still, he’s not going to toss a woman out when her safety is on the line. But the only way to explain her presence on his farm is to claim that they fell in love online…and the last thing he needs is a fake relationship that threatens to become more and more real every day.

With her world turned upside down and danger on her trail, Liz knows that this temporary refuge can’t last forever…but leaving the comfort and ease of Silas’s arms and farm to face the reality of her life may be the hardest thing she’s ever had to do.

*** WARNING: This book contains scenes of mild bondage and domination between a gorgeous lawyer and a sexy farmer who is terrible with women. And five farm dogs with varying degrees of loyalty to both the hero and heroine.***

My thoughts:
I was sold on the first Beards and Bondage books. I always want to read books like this because like many before me I LOVE beards. Seriously they are the best.
The blurb kind of nails the plot, and this book is hot. It’s a shift from our normal BDSM book though in the best way with a female led domination.
Rebekah writes realistic women in the best ways. I generally find that I finish these books in one sitting because they are so delightful and unputdownable when it comes to getting through them.
Liz is a with a strong willed main character and Silas is a little more shy reserved type. I loved reading about them figuring out what they want. Nothing better than two people stuck in an odd situation falling in love and learning a lot of new things about each other.
We see both characters grow throughout the book and change. It’s great. I always want to see things like this instead of having them stay static or barely grow. This is a trend for me in books though. I love character growth and emotions. The characters felt so real.
Did I mention the dogs? There are 5 dogs and let’s just say that ups the rating immediately.  I really enjoyed this one 4/5 stars and I can’t wait to read book 3!
So if you like dogs, beards and bondage give this book and series a chance.
